Alleppey, also known as Alappuzha, is very famous tourist destination for the backwaters in Kerala. Besides, backwaters, Alleppey is also known for beautiful beaches which give the view of Arabian sea.
One of the largest lake in Kerala and India. There are several reasons here which attract tourist to the beautiful lake, in and off season. The snake boat race held in August in a major attraction. It’s an ideal place to stay for tourist because of its most picturesque view of the bank of the vembanad Lake. Here coconut plantation, lush green vegetation with exotic plants and trees such as mangoes, banana and pineapples cover the area around the villas.
The Backwater Cruise -Alleppey, “Venice of the East” has a large network of canals that meander through the town. The Snake Boat Race held every year in August in the backwaters of Alleppey is a major attraction. A glide in a “Kettuvallam” (Houseboat) through the enchanting backwaters of Alleppey is sure to rob your heart. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets lined up along either sides of the canals are panoramic sights one can never forget. Flocks of ducks swimming around the banks and tiny birds flying across the sky remains as enduring pictures reflecting the charm of this unique land.
